God

The Trinity is a doctrine which attempts to describe how the persons in the Godhead relate. You will not find the word trinity in the bible, however the concept is hidden there.

This is perhaps one the most misunderstood doctrines in the Christian Faith. The implications are far reaching and are fundamental to the Christian Faith and many Sects distort this important concept of the Trinity.

I don't believe to have all the answers but I will attempt to explain it as best I can.

The Old Testament is God, one in three.

In the OT God acts in unity as one One God but three distinct personalities at creation.
Genesis 1v26 "Let us"

The New Testament is God, three in one.

One God but three distinct personalities at creation. John 1v1 Below is an attempt to represent God. God is a triune being, ie. he has three distinct personalities, yet we are talking about one God. What a 'trilema'. If this is not a word maybe it should be. It shows the problem of us finite beings have to describe an in-finite being.

The blue box around represents the true representation of God, which is not possible for us to know as it is beyond our primitive minds and God hasn't revealed it to us in its entirety.

God is the first perfect fellowship. We have the three personalities in communication with each other. As they relate to mankind, God the Father points to God the Son. God the Son or Jesus Christ points to God the Father and sends the Holy Spirit to show us the way when he left the Earth. The Holy Spirit points to Jesus Christ.

All activities with God involve all three personalities of the Godhead. To illustrate this consider the following activities

Salvation

We are reconciled to the God the Father by God the Holy Spirit through God the Son.

Prayer

We pray to the God the Father by God the Holy Spirit through God the Son.

Creation

God the Father is the creator, by God the Son through God the Holy Spirit.

Human beings are by contrast single beings who have body soul and spirit.
